Reading Notes:
- The story of Amba. I loved this story. How Bhishma basically ruined Amba's life and I am very eager to see how will Shikhandin be the reason for Bhishma's death.
- The story of Mandavya was another story that fascinated me. Mandavya was the rishi that cursed Yama to suffer unjustly in another life and this was the reason Yama was born as Vidura. The fact that rishis could curse gods was unexpected.
- Kunti + Yama = Yudhishthira
- Kunti + Vayu = Bhima (Bhima and Hanuman are half brothers!)
- Kunnti + Indra = Arjuna
- Madri + Twin Ashwin Gods = Nakul & Sehdeva
- Drona seems like a very complex character. He is a guru, but he treats Ekalavya unjustly. The story of Ekalavya could be retold in so many different ways.
- Parshurama cursed Karna that when he would really want to use Brahmastra, the secret mantra will slip out of his mind. He did this because Karna lied to Parshurama about not being a Kshatriya.
