Reading Notes: Karmic Revolution, Part B
Ekalavya

Reading Notes:
- In this version, Sage Durvasa did not tell Kunti what exactly the mantra was for. He just told her that it would summon the gods she wished.
- In this version of the story, Kunti called upon the Ashwin twins for Madri so that Madri could be a mother. In the versions I have read and been told so far, Kunti shared the Mantra with Madri, and it was Madri who summoned the gods.
- I wonder why Vyasa would help Gandhari to have 100 sons. Did he, as a sage, not know about the misfortune Duryodhana would bring.
- Yudhishtra- charioteer. Bheem- mace. Nakul & Sehadeva- swords. Arjuna- all weapons but excelled in archery.
- Arjuna & Ashwathama were taught the use of Devastras.
- The fact that Arjuna felt threatened by Ekalavya's skill, and accused Drona of betraying him, comes off as very shallow to me. It should have sparked a sense of competition in Arjuna but he was intimidated.
- In this version, Drona at least realized that he wronged Ekalavya.
