Reading Notes: Ramayana, Part D
Sita's test by fire(Wikimedia: British Library's Mewar Ramayana)Reading Notes, Part D
There were a few things that struck me while reading Part D. They are the following:
- Vibhishana told Rama Taranisen's weak point to kill him. Taranisen was Vibhishana's son. The fact that Vibhishana still put his Dharma first was commendable.
- Hanuman and Angada stripped Mandodari's clothes off to break Ravana's meditation. I felt like this was very wrong of them. Isn't this the same thing that Kauravas did to Draupadi?
- After the war, Rama told Sita to "go wherever she likes" cause he can't take her back??? Sir!!!
- Hanuman wrote a Ramayana on the leaves of a Banana-tree orchard and then went ahead to swallow the leaves cause Valmiki was crying as Hanuman's version of the Ramayana was better. Why?
